02 / Application

Application in EV Charging Systems

EV charging cables are used between charging equipment and electric vehicles. Cable selection depends on the charging interface, electrical requirement, core arrangement, flexibility, installation method and operating environment.

Different charging projects may require different cable types and constructions. These application references help define the project requirement and do not imply that one cable construction fits every charging system.

04 / Representative cable construction

Representative EV Charging Cable Construction

EV charging cables may use different multi-core arrangements depending on the charging interface, electrical requirement and selected cable type. The example below is provided for construction review reference only.

Representative example only — actual core arrangement, materials, dimensions and optional screening shall be confirmed according to the selected cable type and project specification.

Illustrative construction only. Core colours and proportions do not define a specific product or wiring standard.
  1. Power conductors

Insulated power cores; quantity and size depend on the selected cable type.

  2. Additional signal / control core(s), where specified

Additional core(s) may be required for control, communication or auxiliary functions depending on the selected cable type.

  3. Core assembly

Core arrangement and fillers depend on the selected cable construction.

  4. Outer sheath

Outer protective sheath; material and performance requirements depend on the selected cable type and installation environment.

Request an EV Charging Cable Quote

If the specification is incomplete, send the available BOQ, drawing or datasheet. Huanyu can review the information and identify the cable details still required for quotation.

Information to include

  • Charging interface / connection requirement
  • Required voltage / current
  • Conductor size / core arrangement
  • Cable flexibility / handling requirement
  • Installation environment
  • Applicable project standard, if specified
  • Required documentation
  • Quantity / total length
  • Destination
  • Delivery schedule, if known

Partial project information is also welcome for initial review. If available, you can also email your BOQ or specification to ziheng@huanyucable.com.
